Performance Monitoring
Knowing where your leads are coming from is, of course, vital in any assessment of an advertisers worth. To that end, every call that comes to you from the Citylets network will be premised with an automated voice prompt:
'Hello, this is a call from Citylets'
It may take a little bit of getting used to but it does ensure that you never miss the source of any of our leads without even having to ask the prospective tenant. This is achieved by using an 0870 number which, when dialled, maps right through to your landline. There are no costs to you in the provision of this facility and the user is billed only at the standard national rate charged by their telecoms company.
Citylets does not use 0870 numbers to make money - it's purely to ensure effective tracking which you can monitor at any time through your admin area. In the 'Call Statistics' section you can find out how many calls you have received over any date range of interest. This facility is powered directly by Opera Interactive Technology Group to provide you with not only transparency, but independence in our reporting. Even if we wanted to interact with these figures, we can't.
Emails, on the other hand naturally carry our branding or that of one of our partners so again you will never miss the source of your leads. As a general rule, for every email lead that you receive, around 5 calls will have been made. The telephone is still the public's preferred communication channel even on the internet where email channels are available.
Web stats reporting is also provided by Citylets, but in our view they are not a hugely important benchmark. A good website will make it easy for viewers to find their ideal properties and so with web stats, to a degree, less is more.
We focus our performance monitoring on leads - both emails & calls - as the main indicator. Obviously it's also about quality and conversion to 'heads on beds' but that is something that can only be evaluated at your end.
