Citylets Rental Report Q3 2009 Summary
Residential rents in Scotland fell for the 3rd successive quarter in Q3 2009 but at 3.4% down year on year little change on Q2 (3.3%) and evidence to suggest that the downward trend may be levelling out. Edinburgh, the UKs largest private rental market by %, has been hardest hit reflecting its exposure to an altered balance in supply and demand derivative from the now well documented economic factors arising from the credit crunch. The average rent in Scotland in Q3 2009 was £640 down from £663 in the same period last year. Properties are also taking longer to let than this time last year with over half now taking over 4 weeks.
