In 21 local authority areas in Scotland people on average earnings are priced out of the buyers\u2019 market and forced to rent instead, according to the GMB union. With strong demand for rental properties not matched by the supply, it becomes a struggle to secure affordable accommodation. Therefore, on current trends, mid market housing is proving popular amongst renters and in many cases is their only chance to live in top quality homes at a price they can afford.<\/p>\n

Lowther Homes<\/a>, part of Wheatley Group and a Citylets client, has been operating in the market for over 5 years with the aim to improve standards in the Private Rented Sector and provide more affordable, high quality homes to local communities.<\/p>\n

Lowther Homes Portfolio <\/strong><\/p>\n

A developer, letting agent & property manager, Lowther offers a vast array of properties to cater for the needs of different people, including 1-4 bedroom homes with rents ranging from \u00a3350 to \u00a31450 per month.<\/p>\n

It has a portfolio of 803 properties in total, including mid and full market rental. Their properties are located within seven local authority areas in Scotland, with around 75% being in Glasgow and the remainder in Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire, South Lanarkshire, East Dunbartonshire, Ayrshire, Inverclyde and Edinburgh.<\/p>\n

Some fine examples of Lowther\u2019s homes are: Silverbells development in the centre of Hamilton with 21 two bedroom apartments and Ellerslie Street on the banks of the River Clyde in Yoker with its 46 one and two bedroom flats. Lowther\u2019s properties are competitively priced on the market and represent good value for money. All apartments at Ellerslie Street were let within a month of initial viewings.<\/p>\n

Lowther Homes manages a portfolio of 236 mid-market properties in total. Of the most recent ones there are 23 homes on Milncroft Road in the East End of Glasgow, completed earlier this year by one of Lowther\u2019s partners within the group \u2013 Cube Housing Association. Soon to be added to this growing portfolio are new developments in Ibrox and the East End of Glasgow that will see another 50 properties for mid-market rent by March 2017.<\/p>\n

In partnership with other organisations from Wheatley Group, Lowther Homes works to deliver more of much needed affordable homes to benefit tenants on modest incomes, helping them to increase their chances for high quality accommodation in this competitive market.<\/p>\n
