A property to rent in Brighton has been attracting a lot of attention on social media\u2026 for all the wrong reasons.<\/p>\n

\u201cIs that a rainfall shower head above the drain and loo??? Please tell me they installed an invisible wall in this prison cell,\u201d reads one of the comments after the property had been posted online.<\/p>\n

Room with a loo<\/strong><\/h4>\n

This 338 sq ft one bed flat on Guildford Road, central Brighton, is described as having \u201ca fantastic size bedroom with a double glazed window to front and en-suite wet room area\u201d, which is actually just a toilet situated next to the bed\u2026 and all that for \u00a31,000 a month in rent.<\/p>\n

The comments on social media range from amusement to disbelief.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s disgusting. I saw a listing for a flat in Brighton that charges \u00a31,000 a month for a toilet in the same room as a bed. (\u2026) it\u2019s unacceptable.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOpen the front door after a hard days of work to see your boyfriend on the loo reading the paper \u2013 lovely welcome home.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBrighton is a joke, I\u2019ve seen tonnes of single lodger bedrooms in family homes going for \u00a3700-800p\/m. It\u2019s shameful.\u201d<\/p>\n

The local agent who advertised the property has apologised and rectified the \u2018error\u2019 on the property listing: \u201cThis has now been amended and we are very sorry for any confusion \u2013 it shouldn\u2019t have been listed as an en-suite.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018Prison cell\u2019 for rent<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The Brighton\u2019s \u2018room with a loo\u2019 is not the only one currently on the market being compared to a prison cell.<\/p>\n

A studio flat with an oven next to the bed and bars on the windows is available for rent for \u00a31,100 a month in Hackney, one of London\u2019s crime hotspots.<\/p>\n

The advert reads: \u201cA nice studio. Property benefits from a large room with a kitchenette, nice shower and toilet. Fantastic location, just minutes away from local station. The property is in great proximity to many fantastic bars and restaurants due to its location, many supermarkets, hospitals, schools etc. make this a great place to live.\u201d<\/p>\n
