Sharpen your pencils as the deadline for entries in the national awards competition which celebrates and recognises achievements in Scottish housing is fast approaching.<\/p>\n

The Scottish Home Awards has a wide range of categories, one of which is the Residential Letting Team of the Year sponsored by Citylets<\/a> for the fifth consecutive year.<\/p>\n

With just a week to go until the entry deadline on Thursday 24th<\/sup> March 2022, there is still time to enter the competition, and the awards team is available to speak to all their entrants to offer top tips on how to enter and maximise marks. The entry process is simple \u2013 just register on the website, complete the online form and then submit.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s often a good idea to write your entry offline first and then copy and paste the content into the entry system, but as you do that, remember these top tips<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

Criteria:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Check that your entry covers all points in terms of answering the criteria in each category you are entering. If it helps, use the guidelines<\/a> as headings throughout your submission.<\/p>\n

Clarity:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Keep your writing clear and concise.\u00a0 Include information which tells the story of your team or individual. By using a strong opening paragraph this will help grab the attention of judges.<\/p>\n

Presentation:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The look and feel of your entry is important and judges will recognise effort in preparation and clear presentation. Make sure you include images that best showcase the project.<\/p>\n

Testimonials:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Back up your entry with named client, supplier or staff testimonials, and remember to include industry credentials.<\/p>\n

Share your success:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The more you can demonstrate how you overcame challenges to produce a great result the better. Show how you achieved success by working collaboratively.<\/p>\n

Increase your chances:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Enter as many categories as you can to spread the message across the judging panel and the competition.<\/p>\n

Take time:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Triple check your submission and supporting information to ensure it covers the criteria and guidelines as best it can. Make sure to proof-read your statements. Grammatical errors and spelling mistakes detract from the quality of the nomination.<\/p>\n
