Episode 64<\/a> of Lets Talk hears how an Aberdeen based initiative helps get empty homes back into use to assist those most in need, as well as supporting landlords.<\/p>\n

Aberdeen is currently facing an empty homes crisis and the cost of this is predicted to reach \u00a33m this year. \u2018Settled Homes for All\u2019, an initiative run by charity Aberdeen Cyrenians, aims to get these homes back into use to increase housing supply and offer long term security to their tenants, whilst at the same time providing a diverse range of support to both landlords and tenants.<\/p>\n

Separate teams for dedicated individual support<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u2018Settled Homes for All\u2019 deliberately created two separate teams so they could provide dedicated support to the individual sides of each tenancy \u2013 the landlord<\/a> and the tenant itself. Matthew Bringloe, the Service Manager for landlords describes his role and the support they are able to give to their clients. Sarah, the Service Manager for tenants, plays a vital role in supporting them, often to vulnerable people in great need.<\/p>\n

It isn\u2019t just their own landlords and tenants that Aberdeen Cyrenians offer support to. The charity also offer a number of services to anyone facing crisis in their life. Matthew discusses the different support on offer, as well as the incredible amount of food parcels that the organisation has donated in this year alone.<\/p>\n
