Citylets is delighted to announce that it is headline sponsor for the eagerly awaited ‘Building the Rented Sector in Scotland’ conference next month at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh.

Convened by Homes for Scotland (HFS)- the umbrella body for Scotland’s home building industry- the conference brings together those who wish to see the capacity of the Scottish rental sector increased with those seeking investment and development opportunities.

HFS has been leading a major research project in partnership with experts in housing finance from the Cambridge Centre for Housing & Planning Research and LSE London to determine how new sources of funding can be attracted into the Scottish market. Supported by Construction Scotland and the Scottish Government, findings to inform the approach will be revealed on the day.

Recognising the growing importance of the sector and the requirement for Scotland to build more homes, the keynote speech will be provided by Deputy First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon.

As further help for home buyers has been announced in recent weeks, this special one day event on Nov 20th will consider what needs to be done to expand Scotland’s growing rented sector and increase overall housing supply to help deliver the 465k new homes needed by 2035.

With a membership of 180 organisations together providing 95% of new homes built for sale in Scotland each year as well as a significant proportion of affordable housing, HFS are committed to improving the quality of living in Scotland by providing this and future generations with warm, sustainable homes in places people want to live.
