Citylets Adds to Its Research Team

In yet another change for the lettings industry in the UK, the Advertising Standards Authority has now ruled that Letting Agents cannot advertise property to rent without full disclosure of their fees.

Whilst this may not affect Scottish Letting Agents with an outright ban imposed last year – a thin silver lining perhaps- it is another signal that the private rented sector is coming under increasing scrutiny.

Citylets intends to continue to deliver authoritative empirical information both generally and to inform local & central government and lobby groups on the state of the Private Rented Sector (PRS) in Scotland which, as far we can see, appears to be functioning well (low national annual rate of inflation, high tenant satisfaction levels…).

Overall our aim is to help ensure that balanced perspectives prevail and some of our analyses will compare and contrast the PRS with social rented housing.

To that end, we are delighted to confirm that we have further increased our investment in this area and added to our research team with the appointment of Lewis as our Research Director. Lewis was the Research Manager at The Digital Property Group in London and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience.
